BetMGM Poker Signup Offers For 2024
BetMGM has a fantastic welcome offer for poker players to take advantage of. The platform offers new users a 100 percent deposit match up to $1,000 to get them started. In addition, new players can earn up to $75 in free tournament tickets.
No-Deposit Bonus
Currently, BetMGM Poker doesn’t have a bonus that you can receive simply for registering. In other words, there isn’t a BetMGM Poker no-deposit bonus. The welcome offer at the popular poker site requires an initial deposit.
Deposit Bonus
New players must make an initial deposit within seven days of creating their account. And remember, the initial deposit is also matched 100 percent up to $1,000. In addition to the deposit match, there is a deposit bonus involving tournament entries.
The promo code for this welcome package is TGDPOKER.
The total amount of tournament tickets new users can earn is based entirely on home much their first deposit is. The bonus structure is as follows:
- Initial deposits between $10 and $499 will award the player $25 in tournament tickets. These include one $20 ticket and one $5 ticket for free play.
- Initial deposits between $500 and $999 will award the player $50 in tournament tickets. These include one $20 ticket, two $10 tickets, and two $5 tickets for free play.
- Initial deposits of $1,000 will award the player $75 in tournament tickets. These include two $20 tickets, three $10 tickets, and one $5 ticket for free play.
Bonus Wagering Requirements
All bonus money obtained from the $1,000 first deposit match is subject to wagering requirements that must be completed in order to withdraw Bonus Cash.
At BetMGM, Bonus Cash is released in increments of 10 percent of the user’s initial deposit. The increments are earned out at a rate of 14x in BetMGM Rewards Points. For example, if the $100 initial deposit is matched with $100 in Bonus Cash. This cash will be released in $10 increments as the betting requirements are met.
In order to qualify for a $10 release, the player must earn 140 BetMGM Rewards Points. Once points are released, they are available for immediate withdrawal. This process must be completed within 120 days of the initial deposit, or the bonus will expire.
As far as the tournament ticket goes, they may be used to enter any tournament that corresponds with their given value. These tickets expire in 14 days, so new users should make tournaments a priority early on.
Promos Worth Considering
The BetMGM Poker welcome bonus is the only promotion currently listed by the operator, but the site has regularly scheduled tournaments that have the look and feel of promotions.
The poker platform has a popular $535 buy-in tournament every Tuesday aptly called Mega Tuesdays.
BetMGM Poker Rakeback Bonus
BetMGM Poker has recently introduced a fantastic rakeback promotion titled Cashback Grind. Throughout 2024, playing real-money poker games at BetMGM will earn you Reward Points.
The more BetMGM Reward Points (BRPs) you earn, the higher the cashback bonus you can receive. Once you’ve opted in to the BetMGM Poker Rakeback Bonus offer, you’ll start at 25 BRPs for the week, which equates to $0.50. But play enough, and you can acquire up to a maximum of 12,500 BRPs which will net you $700 in cashback bonus money! Best of all, you can do this every single week.

Can You Win Real Money at BetMGM Poker?
Yes, the site is a real-money platform. There are no virtual currencies like offered at social and sweepstakes gaming sites. BetMGM Poker is 100% real money.
Poker is a game of skill, so your chances of winning real money are greater than playing BetMGM Poker than BetMGM Casino.
Is BetMGM Poker Legal?
Yes, the product is fully licensed and regulated. World-class casino regulators gave the operator their stamp of approval. The company operates squarely within the laws governing online gaming. You never have to worry about BetMGM Poker being shut down.
Who Can Play Poker?
Players must be over the legal gambling age of 21 and physically located within the borders of New Jersey. BetMGM Poker, along with every other legal betting site in NJ, uses geolocation software to ensure compliance. Locations are determined via WiFi signal triangulation and IP address.
Where Can You Play?
To play on BetMGM, PC users will need to download the GeoComply Location software before they are able to place a real money bet. This software is automatically attached to the platform on iOS and Android. Users do not need to be connected to a WiFi hotspot but will need to ensure that WiFI is enabled on their device.
BetMGM is also ring-fenced for the state of New Jersey. This means that when playing poker online in the Garden State, users will only play against others from within New Jersey. This may change down the road. But, as of now, in-state players will only have each other to compete against at BetMGM Poker.
My BetMGM Poker Experience
The experience of using the BetMGM Poker software was an overall positive one. It started when I first headed over to the website and downloaded the BetMGM Poker software on my PC. The software was easy to find on the website and installed within a minute.
The first time I opened the program, I was prompted to either sign in or sign up for a new account. I already had an account but did remember the signup process from before. It was as quick and easy as it gets for an online casino. I had to put in my personal information that is required by law, answer a few questions and verify my email. Making my initial deposit was a breeze as well. I just connected my PayPal account for convenience, and I was off to the tables.
Then it was on to my favorite part. Getting my welcome bonus. This process was easy as pie, and I had my 100 percent match on my initial deposit immediately. I also ended up earning a bunch of tournament tickets with a value of $50. I saw that a $20 tournament was starting up and used my newly awarded free ticket to buy into the event.
While my performance wasn’t impressive, the software was. The games were smooth, did not lag, and I never dropped the connection once. The program is a little bit heavy to run at times, but it’s nothing too significant.
I then spent some time surfing through the other tournament options that were going on that day. Seeing as how it was a Sunday, I knew it was the best day for tournaments at BetMGM Poker. I joined a sit-and-go to see how the flow of these games felt.
I was impressed with how easy it was to find a game and how quickly the table filled up and dealt the initial hand.
As was the case with the previous tournament, there were no issues with the software at all. It’s stressful enough to try and compete against nine other people at a poker table without having to worry about software issues in the back of your head. It was helpful for my focus to not have to worry about such things at BetMGM Poker.
My final task was to make a withdrawal back into my PayPal account. It was just as easy as my deposit and was a lightning-fast process.
All in all, I had a great time with this software and experienced no issues that took away from my gameplay experience.
BetMGM Poker Games
Whether you want cash games, tournaments, sit-and-gos, or satellites to in-person poker events, BetMGM has you covered.
Cash Games
The staple of every online poker room at the cash games, as those games are typically the busiest for a iPoker room. Cash games run around the clock and you can leave whenever you want, unlike a tournament.
This site has a whole suite of cash game variants for poker players to choose from, in addition to all different stakes, from micro stakes poker at BetMGM to the ultimate high stakes poker.
Hold’em (No-Limit, Fixed, and Pot-Limit)
Over the last couple of decades, Texas Hold ’em poker has become the most popular version of the game worldwide. This is due in large part to online poker platforms like BetMGM and the rise of televised poker on cable. Nowadays, Hold ’em is king at any online casino.
While the rules of Hold ’em are easy to understand, it can take a lifetime to master this game. In a game of Hold ’em, each player is first dealt two face-down cards known as the “hole" cards. It is at this point that the first round of betting commences. After this, three cards are put in the community area face-up all at once. This is known as the “Flop."
A round of betting is conducted after the three flop cards are revealed. A fourth card is then added to the community pot called the “Turn." This is followed by another round of betting. Finally, the fifth and final community card is revealed. This is called the “River" and is followed up by one final round of betting.
All in all, there are four betting rounds in a hand of Hold ’em. This is followed by the showdown, where players reveal their cards and determine a winner. The winner is the player with the best five-card poker hand.
Omaha (High and Hi-lo)
Omaha poker is a phenomenal and exciting game that was actually derived from Texas Hold ’em. There are two main variations of this game. One is known as (PLO) Pot-Limit Omaha or High Omaha. The other, more popular variation is Hi-Lo Omaha. The games are the same for the most part.
No matter which variation you choose, each player in Omaha is dealt four private cards, or hole cards, face-down in front of them. The dealer then places five community cards face-up that can be used by all players at the table. Players must use exactly two of their own cards and three community cards to create the best poker hand.
This is where the variations come into play. In PLO, the highest poker hand takes the whole pot. Plain and simple. However, Hi-Lo Omaha is a split-pot game.
This means that one player does not always win the whole payout. More often than not, the pot is split between two players. This is because the pot is divided between the player with the highest poker hand and the player with the lowest.
Omaha Hi-Lo is played with an eight or higher qualifier which means a low hand must consist of five cards with values of eight or below. If no low hand qualifies, the whole pot goes to the high hand. Aces are always low.
Seven-Card Stud (High and Hi-lo)
These days, the most popular variant of poker is Texas Hold’Em. But, before it exploded in popularity thanks to the World Series of Poker, Seven-Card Stud was the most popular variation in the United States. The game can be played with between two and eight players and features a few key differences from Texas Hold’Em or Omaha.
One of the bigger differences in Seven-Card Stud is that it does not have a flop and usually no community cards to speak of. Another is that players are eventually dealt seven cards of their own to work with.
Seven-Card Stud is also usually played with a limited betting structure. This sets the bets in fixed increments for each round. In a game with a $2/$4 limit game, the best are in increments of $2 in the first two betting rounds and $4 in the subsequent three betting rounds.
A round of Seven-Card Stud begins when all players ante up. This is another difference between Seven-Card Stud and Hold’Em, which uses big and small blinds. Each player is then dealt three cards, two face-down and one face-up. The face-up card is commonly referred to as “Third Street."
The player who has the lowest face-up card is called the “Bring In" and makes the first bet of each round. Subsequent bets must be equal to the bring-in’s initial wager or a full bet of the lower betting increment. Betting continues clockwise until the round ends.
The dealer then gives each player a second face-up card, known as “Fourth Street." The player with the highest poker value card begins this round of betting. They may check or bet the lower structure betting amount. Betting continues clockwise until the round ends.
The next card dealt face-up is called “Fifth Street" and begins the use of the higher bet increments. This would up the bets from $2 to $4 in the example above. The game continues like this for the last two cards, known as Sixth Street and The River. The seventh, and final card, is dealt face down.
Once the final round of betting is completed, cards are shown, and the player with the best five-card poker hand wins. This is known as the showdown. Equal hands will see the pot divided between winners.
There is a variation of this game called Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo. It follows the basic premise of the original game with a few tweaks. The biggest of which is that Hi-lo is a split pot game. This is because the best high hand and the best low hand split the pot down the middle.
Low hands must qualify with at least five cards below (8) in order to win half the pot. It’s even possible for a player to win both the high and low portion of the pot. This is known as “scooping." If there is no qualifying low hand, the best hand takes the whole pot.
Poker Tournaments
There aren’t often a lot of guarantees at an online casino, but BetMGM Poker offers guaranteed tournaments daily. The guarantee tag on these events refers to the idea that a minimum pot will be offered to the winners of the tournament.
For example, a guaranteed tournament (GTD) of $10,000 will offer a payout pool of at least $10k. These payouts must occur even if the turnout for the event is poor.
This is when something called “overlay" comes into play. See, the reason casinos offer guaranteed tournaments is because the entrants end up populating the prize pool with buy-in money. But, if there aren’t enough players to fill that pool, where does the extra money come from?
The only place it could come from, out of the casino’s pockets. That’s right; casinos are on the hook for the difference if a guaranteed tournament does not attract enough attention to meet the guarantee goal. This process allows casinos to market games with a guarantee while protecting participants from a low turnout. It’s a win-win for everyone.
BetMGM offers an impressive number of daily guaranteed tournaments to explore. The buy-ins for these games range from $2 up to $109. Naturally, the guaranteed payout increases with the buy-in.
The guaranteed prize pools for these games range from $200 all the way up to $10,000. This is a nice feature that gives BetMGM Poker the ability to cater to a wide range of players.
Many new players might not know this, but Sundays have traditionally been the day that platforms offer their best poker tournaments. BetMGM Poker is no different and offers players dozens of tournaments every Sunday to compete in.
These end-of-the-week tournaments kick off at 12:30 AM with the $150 Guaranteed Turbo Tournament and run all day until the 11:30 PM $500 Guaranteed 6-Max Turbo Tournament. The majority of these tournaments are no-limit, and players can participate in as many as there is time for.
Players looking for action during the week needn’t worry. BetMGM Poker offers hundreds of tournaments during the week on top of their weekend events. The events from Monday to Saturday run from 12:00 AM to 11:30 PM daily.
The sheer number of tournaments ensures that players will never wait long for a seat and can enjoy several different types of games and buy-ins. There are some Pot-Limit Omaha games, but most have no limit.
Tournament Poker Championships
These tournaments are very popular among higher-tier players to participate in. Some of these tournaments can run for a few days to a few weeks. Some are even “Pro-Tour" events that see players compete against others from across the globe.
Sometimes these tournaments are online, and sometimes BetMGM holds online satellites to in-person championship events.
Sit-and-Gos
Players that are looking for a quick yet fulfilling poker experience are going to love the Sit & Go tournaments at BetMGM. These events allow players to hop into a tournament for big payouts that take about an hour to complete.
Users that have limited time and prefer smaller tournaments should definitely check these events out. The single-table tournament style means you don’t have to beat out hundreds of others to earn a prize. There is also no set schedule for these games. Once the table is full, the first flop drops, and the action begins.
These tournaments are a great place for beginner players to get the feel of playing against other opponents. With such a small field to compete against, Sit & Go tournaments are a great way to learn things like positioning and stack sizes.
These tournaments are very accessible too. BetMGM Poker offers buy-ins ranging from $0.10 to $500. Players can also choose between regular, turbo, and hyper-turbo speeds.
Satellites
BetMGM Poker consistently runs low buy-in satellites to its more expensive tournaments. You can sometimes qualify for high buy-in events for as little as $1, which is a great way for players to try to qualify for cheap.
Satellites are running around the clock at BetMGM.
In addition, the poker site has satellites to in-person tournaments. For example, in summer 2022 BetMGM Poker was offering online satellites to events in Las Vegas. BetMGM and the MGM-owned ARIA gave players a chance to play live in Las Vegas in the inaugural BetMGM Poker Championship.
Players could compete in satellites to the Las Vegas championship event for as little as $5. The $6,000 prize packages included travel expenses and free stay at Aria Las Vegas.

If you or anyone you know needs help with responsible gambling, the National Council on Problem Gambling has a 24/7 confidential number.
BetMGM Liquidity Sharing
While BetMGM does not share a player base with other stats just yet, they do share player pools with other casinos in New Jersey. BetMGM Poker shares its players with PartyPoker and Borgata. They currently do not share liquidity websites with any other BetMGM platforms outside of New Jersey.
This could change if state laws are adjusted to allow liquidity sharing in this situation. Pooling players will help to fund guaranteed tournaments more reliably and raise the overall prize pools offered. Another advantage would be to bring online poker to states that are deemed too small to support a casino on their own.
States will have to hash out how to hash out terms with each other as to how this will work. They must also do so in compliance with federal law. But the idea is gaining traction. New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan do have an agreement in place. BetMGM will likely start with those states when they decide to move forward with interstate shared liquidity.
