WSOP Begins Dealing Online Poker In Michigan
After many months of anticipation, the real-money online poker product from the most iconic brand in the game is now live in the state of Michigan.
The World Series of Poker, an online site from Las Vegas-based Caesars, announced Monday that it began online games in Michigan cyberspace. The move follows Michigan launches in 2021 from rivals PokerStars and BetMGM Poker.
The Wolverine State is the fourth for WSOP.com, with the platform previously launching in Nevada, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The platform pools liquidity between Nevada and New Jersey, with WSOP Pennsylvania and WSOP Michigan currently ring-fenced to their respective borders. That is expected to change sometime in the near future.
The WSOP MI platform features cash games, including hold’em and Omaha, and tournaments, many of which have large guaranteed prize pools. In addition, Michiganders will be able to play satellites to the upcoming in-person poker series in Las Vegas.
“With two world champions coming out of this state, Michigan is a special market for the WSOP," Ty Stewart, SVP of the World Series of Poker at Caesars Entertainment, said in a statement.
“We’re sorry it’s taken so long, but WSOP.com is ready to make up for our late entry with industry-leading promotions, the biggest weekly tournaments, and player appreciation benefits like freerolls to the Main Event in Las Vegas."
WSOP Bonus Code For TGD Casino
WSOP Michigan is offering a bonus for readers of The Game Day Casino. Upon registration through a link on TGD Casino, WSOP MI will give you $50 free and a deposit match bonus of 100% up to $1,000. That’s a combined value of $1,050.
Players get $25 of the $50 simply for signing up through TGD Casino. The remaining $25 comes in the form of freeplay after a successful first deposit.
Use a link on this page to go to WSOP.com and use the exclusive bonus code GAMEDAY25.
In addition to the bonuses, players can participate in welcome week freerolls following their first deposit on the legal and regulated poker site.
First-time depositors of any amount will have the opportunity to participate in a monthly freeroll for a VIP trip to Las Vegas to play in the $10,000 buy-in Main Event this summer.
WSOP Signs Michigan Main Event Winner
To boost its visibility in a Michigan online gaming market that also includes immensely popular iCasinos and sportsbooks, WSOP MI signed a brand ambassadorship deal with Joe Cada, winner of the 2009 Main Event in Las Vegas.
The WSOP will award a $1,000 bonus to any Michigander who plays in and outlasts Cada in the upcoming Main Event in Sin City. That’s no easy feat, but it’s worth the challenge! Of course, players can potentially qualify to the tournament for much less through a satellite on WSOP MI.
Online satellites to the $10,000 in-person event start as low as $1.
The WSOP said that Cada will live stream some of his poker sessions on the platform, participate in WSOP bounty events, and host live tournaments around Michigan to boost the site’s brand.
“It’s go time in Michigan," Cada said. “I know a lot of local players are excited that WSOP.com is finally live in the state, and I’m personally looking forward to getting to know all the great poker players at tournaments and online events soon. Game on!"
